What Makes This Better?
A traditional podcast takes more time, equipment, and stress than one made on Notebook LM! Technology difficulties are common and frustrating at the very least! By using Notebook LM to create a podcast, you can easily prompt the site to craft a podcast in whatever format or style you want. Not only that, but you are in control of the sources- no more AI gibberish (unless you choose!)
Find Notebook LM
To find Notebook LM, begin by searching ‘Notebook LM’ in a search browser. Once you’re there, click ‘try Notebook LM’ and create a new notebook.
Add Sources to Notebook LM
Once open, begin to copy and paste your URLs into the ‘web’ option. Once complete, Notebook LM will provide you with an AI-generated overview of the information from the combined sources. From here, you can enter a prompt to help your research, and it will respond using the sources you entered.

Generating a Podcast
Once you have the information you need, you can click on the ‘podcast’ button on the sidebar on the right of the screen. You will be able to choose from four different styles of podcast, podcast length, and you can even add a prompt before generating if you want something more specific!

Why Not Use ChatGPT?
Notebook LM is a Retrieval-Augmented Generation tool (RAG), whereas ChatGPT is a Large Language Model (LLM). The difference between these two is that ChatGPT searches the information it was given during “training”, while Notebook LM searches the most recent and relevant information provided by the user, avoiding hallucination (false/outdated information)
By using Notebook LM, you know that your overview is drawn from sources you selected!
